Checking sourceNext update: after the ECB's next business-day reference-rate release
This is a KRW cross-rate derived from the ECB's euro reference rates. Banknote and transfer rates include their own timing, fees and spreads. Weekends and holidays may show the previous business day's value.
METAL MARKET GUIDE
Where should each metal price be checked?
Liquidity and publication methods differ by metal. This guide avoids presenting every metal as if it had the same continuous global spot price.
This site does not use a metal-price API that requires payment, an API key or individual approval. We have not identified a public source that meets those conditions while reliably covering all eight metals, so this section provides market structure and verification guidance without publishing price figures.
| Metals | Typical reference | Transparency | Key transaction check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gold and silver | Global benchmark and exchanges | Relatively high | FX, purity, tax and fabrication |
| Platinum and palladium | Global benchmark and dealer quote | Moderate | Industrial demand, spread and purity |
| Rhodium, iridium and ruthenium | Supplier base price and bilateral quote | Low | Publication time, form and minimum order |
| Osmium | Specialist dealer quote | Very low | Certification, product form and buy-back terms |
These categories are an educational summary based on the availability of public benchmarks and common distribution structures. See Methodology for sources and calculation rules.
READING THE DATA
Three distinctions that matter
Reference rate vs customer rate
This site's FX rate is derived from central-bank reference data. Cash and transfer rates at a bank have different timing, fees and bid/ask spreads.
Benchmark vs supplier base price
A benchmark follows a defined process. A supplier base price is a commercial reference used by that supplier. Similar-looking numbers do not necessarily have the same status.
Limits of KRW-per-gram conversion
Converting USD per troy ounce into KRW per gram is a mathematical comparison. It does not add purity, product form, tax, logistics or dealer margin.
